Luke Schenn, a 33-year-old defenseman from Toronto, is ready to face the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference First Round of the Stanley Cup First Round on Tuesday. He has experienced their culture firsthand, having won the Cup with the Lightning in 2020 and 2021, and is confident that the team can beat anyone. He is hoping that the additions of players like Schenan and Ryan O'Reilly, who won the cup with the St. Louis Blues in 2019, can help them overcome that hurdle and win a series for the first time since 2004. His scouting report of his former team would be invaluable, as he brings much-needed sandpaper to the blue line and his role as scout of the Lightning might prove to be invaluable. Schenen has had a great run there and is excited about the challenge of facing the Lightning, who have a core group that knows what it takes.
